SiGo holds the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Torch

Gobinath Sivarajah, known as ‘SiGo,’ is an International Sports Diplomacy Expert and Global Sport Manager who takes on multiple roles driven by his diverse interests. He currently serves as the Marketing and Media Manager, National Course Director, IOC Safeguarding Officer, and Single Point of Contact for the Prevention of Manipulation of Competitions at the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka. Additionally, he manages Tharjini Sivalingam, the World’s No.1 Netball player, and contributes as a National Technical Official in Sri Lanka Athletics.

SiGo is currently pursuing a Certificate of Advanced Studies in “Regulation of Global Sport” at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2023, he was appointed as Senior Advisor for MoraSpirit. As a lecturer in Sport Administration, Sport Management, and Statistics, he has been invited as a guest speaker and lecturer by various universities and institutions while contributing to multiple research projects in sports studies.

He has earned numerous national and international accolades in both sport and education. Notably, he won the Best Thesis Award at Seoul National University for his Master’s in Sport Management and received the ‘Best Practice Award’ from the Korean Sports Promotion Foundation. SiGo was also nominated for the Presidential Award in 2019. In addition, he received Sri Lanka University Colours in Athletics and was honoured with the Prof. Thurairajah Award for his all-around excellence at the University of Jaffna, where he graduated with First-Class Honours in Mathematics and Statistics. He was also named All-Round Sportsman of the Year in 2011. SiGo earned a Certificate in “Global Diplomacy – Diplomacy in the Modern World” from the University of London.

Beyond his professional commitments, SiGo has a deep passion for travelling, storytelling through social media, writing articles, and engaging in spirituality. He is also an experienced compere for award ceremonies and events.

SiGo strongly believes that sport is a powerful force capable of overcoming challenges and fostering peace and intangible values. Through his various roles, he remains committed to promoting sport worldwide.
